Sean O’Banion

Sean currently races in both OMRRA and WMRRA with his 2015 Yamaha R3 in the Ultra Lightweight category and his 2008 Triumph Daytona 675 in 600 Supersport.

His passion for motorcycles was influenced at a young age by a combo of rides on his father’s KLR650 and countless hours of Motorcross Madness 2. This was punctuated by a trip to the movies to see Star Wars Episode 1, where in it the screaming V10 engine sound of Anakin’s pod racer established his desire for motorsports.

Starting track days on his Suzuki SV650S in 2021 and almost immediately moving on to purchasing his Daytona and trying to ride as many tracks as he could in the PNW. [Sean has had the pleasure of riding Laguna Seca! -so jealous!]

Sean the began racing in 2023 in Ultra Lightweight with his R3; unfortunately Sean suffered an injury and in his first season and had to cut the season short. As they say, “you have to get beck on the horse that threw you!”; so Sean did just that and started the 2024 season determined to get back out there. He expanded his skill set and raced in 600 Amatuer earning points in that class.

Sean graduated this year and received his Expert license, he has had some really strong finishes in Ultra Lightweight which is an extremely fast and competitive class, one where you have to learn to carry speed because you can’t rely on power.

Between races and practice sessions he can usually be found wandering the pits, camera in hand, taking pictures of Man’s Best Friend.

Dogs, he takes a lot of pictures of dogs!
